New Embatex production plant

May 15, 2005

Embatex AG has again gone against the usual trends. This much-awarded Carinthian business has not expanded to east Europe, but instead moved its production plants from Croatia and Slovenia to Austria.

€7.6m has been invested by Embatex founder and Managing Director Christian Wernhart in creating a top modern production plant, covering a total area of 30,000 acres, which was opened on 3rd of March 2005.

This will allow the company to aim for completely new directions in terms of production, development and logistics:

Ø      Appropriate development – From March, production and development will all be contained under one roof, with 400 m² available for development and research alone. Furthermore, the company has purchased the latest measuring instruments for securing development and quality.

Ø      Shorter delivery times –The storage area has been enlarged and empties collection is now fully automated through a sorting arrangement. This means more flexible and shorter delivery times.

Ø      Higher productivity for toner and inkjet – The company will reach an even higher productivity through automation of the toner process. Until now it has produced 30,000 toner cartridges per month, with the new automation this will increase to 120,000 toner cartridges, effectively quadrupling capacity. Inkjet production will also benefit from the application of new machines, with capacity in this field also rising four-fold, from 60,000 inkjets a month to 250,000.

Ø      Advanced quality – Embatex is working non-stop on the advancement of the quality, with ISO 9001 already obtained and good progress being made towards LGA-examination. Embatex has also been delegated from Austria, to suggest a standardisation for the EU (CEN standard) for toner cartridges. To implement the necessary tests for this, Embatex will invest about €200,000.
