Panasonic’s main strategy for collecting empties involves inserting a return label into the cartridge packaging that allows end users to return the used toner cartridges to their nearest post office.
Panasonic opens new toner cartridge recycling operation in UK
Panasonic Communications Co. has set up a toner cartridge recycling facility in the UK with an initial recycling capacity of around 30 000 pieces a year. The facility will support a used toner cartridge collection programme begun by PCCUK in December last year.
This programme will mean that end users in 15 European countries (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK) can return used fax toner cartridges for recycling. At present, the scheme covers fax toner cartridge models UG-3313 and UG-3350, but the intention is to expand collections.
