ERS acquires UK-based K2 Supplies

Apr 25, 2007

Environmental Reclamation Services LLC has acquired K2 Supplies, a UK-based supplier of empty printer cartridges.

K2 Supplies has been providing empty cartridges to the printing supplies aftermarket for more than seven years. The company maintains customers throughout Europe and the United States.

K2 has a great reputation in the industry as a company that provides tremendous service and products to its customers,” said Mike Welton, president of ERS.

Paul Freshwater, who is the director of K2 Supplies has been in the empties industry for over 12 years. He will continue managing the operation for ERS with its current staff. Additionally, Freshwater looks to increase employment as the company takes advantage of growth opportunities.

“ERS is the ideal partner for K2,” said Freshwater. “Being part of ERS will better enable the company to reach its objectives for growth and client service.”

The acquisition will ultimately result in greater access to inventory for both K2 and ERS customers, which will help ERS increase customer service in Europe. It will also enable both ERS and K2 to carry on with planned growth efforts.

“This acquisition will enable us to provide an improved network and more options for fulfilling our customers’ cartridge needs throughout the world,” said Welton.

ERS, which is based in Erie, Pennsylvania, has maintained constant growth since its beginning nearly 17 years ago. The acquisition of K2 marks the second completed buyout for ERS within the first four months of 2007.
