Cartridge World UK strengthens team

Jun 14, 2007

Cartridge World has appointed Mark Spreckley as its new Franchise Sales Manager. The company has now appointed five senior managers within the last year as it pursues a more aggressive business strategy.

Mark Spreckley, aged 47, joins the company in May 2007 from Venture Portraits, where he was an Area Sales Manager for seven years. In his new role at Cartridge World, Mark will have responsibility for developing new franchise opportunities and managing existing business resales.

In addition to recruiting Spreckley, Jon Cullen, the company’s UK Managing Director (appointed in May 2006) has recruited Mark Holland as European Operations Director (joined July 2006), and Gary Watson as Purchasing Manager (joined October 2006). Former UK General Manager Duncan Berry has also been appointed Director of European Franchising within the last twelve months.

Commenting on the new management team, Jon said, “These appointments give us strength and depth in the most critical areas of our business; sales, finance and operations. With this management team in place we can accelerate our growth rate. We believe that we now have all the ingredients in place to offer franchisees a first class business opportunity”.

Cartridge World is the fastest growing ink refilling retailer in the world and has opened over 1500 stores in 47 countries since its inception in 1988.

It has opened 290 stores in the UK since 2001, an average of forty eight new store openings per year.

Cartridge World is benefiting from the consumers’ growing awareness about the environmental and financial benefits of refilling and recycling ink cartridges. Recent independent tests have also disproved manufacturers’ claims regarding the supposed inferiority of non-branded cartridges, thereby further fuelling demand for Cartridge World products.
