Walgreens offers free printer cartridge refills Wednesday at more than 3,000 locations in the USA

On Wednesday, September 12th, Walgreens will offer free inkjet printer cartridge refills at more than 3,000 of its drugstores that provide the service nationwide. Customers can bring one empty black or colour cartridge to the Walgreens photo counter at these locations and have it filled at no cost.

Walgreens launched its printer cartridge refill service in select locations last summer and continued the rollout to additional stores earlier this year. At prices about half the cost of an original cartridge – only $10 for black ink and $15 for colour – the response has been strong.

“We hope even more people will decide to try the service for free on Wednesday,” said Walgreens photofinishing general merchandise manager John Sugrue. “Customers appreciate having a more convenient, affordable way to get back to their printing tasks without sacrificing quality. For small business owners, students or anyone who prints a lot of documents or Web pages, the savings can add up fast. And people feel good about keeping printer cartridges out of landfills.”

Walgreens backs each refill with a 100 percent guarantee. The process is also quick and simple – Walgreens can refill most cartridges in a few minutes. During the free event on Wednesday, refill service times will vary depending on demand. Go to www.walgreens.com/ink or 1-800-Walgreens to find a location offering the refill service near you.

Walgreens is the USA’s largest drugstore chain with fiscal 2007 sales of $53.8 billion. The company operates 5,992 stores in 48 states and Puerto Rico, including 77 Happy Harry’s stores in Delaware and surrounding states.
