OPI to postpone European conference

Apr 16, 2009

OPI stated that its research shows that the challenges of the current economic crisis have created an environment where it is not appropriate to host a very large European gathering at this time.

Steve Hilleard, CEO, OPI, commented “Naturally we are disappointed that the market conditions probably cannot support an event of this nature in 2009. As a business it is imperative we maintain strength in our own balance sheet so that we exit this recession in a position to continue serving the global office products community with the premier service on which our reputation is built. In the meantime we will constantly review other opportunities to deliver market-leading news, education and networking forums in a manner that is appropriate for the times.”

OPI believes senior executives are looking for more targeted and focused opportunities and for this reason it has launched the OPI Global Forum. This is a small, invitation-only, event for industry CEOs and will take place from 6-8 May in Chicago.

The next European conference has already been rescheduled for 15-17 September 2010.
