Recycler reports from ReBrasil Expo

Jun 23, 2009

ReBrasil Expo 2009 took place from 17-19 June in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The event was a self-sustained expo with its revenue covering the logistics and promotional costs but focusing much more on the growth of the market through knowledge sharing than being a profit-making event.

Daniel de Freitas, from Linha Aberta Promotional Marketing, organizers of ReBrasil, says that the market should get together and share knowledge to improve quality which consequently improves the whole image of the industry, giving credibility to aftermarket products.

This concept seems to have pleased the sponsors that made it possible and the audience as well. Many people gathered together in front of the “hands-on” courses which presented specific techniques to successfully recycle cartridges, and lectures on tax from Government representatives and management issues presented by Directors of companies from the market. The workshops were led by professionals with a great deal of experience in the remanufacturing industry, giving practical advice and discussions with attendees.

Another thing we noticed was the large numbers of visitors that are intending to enter the market, interested in getting to know the methods and techniques and also searching for equipment to start their businesses – meaning really good business for cartridges remanufacturing machine sellers and for the distributors as well that seemed to have made many contacts during the event.

The full report of the event, including all the news from the exhibiting companies, will be featured in the August issue of Recycler Magazine.
