Eco Green Office sees green in office space

Aug 13, 2009

Eco Green Office has devoted itself to selling green products for a little over two years. The company, founded by siblings Bryan Beckett and Molly Beckett-Olsen, was started to provide a one-stop shop for green products.

“Eco-friendly supplies is the easiest way to green up a business,” Bryan Beckett explained. “We wanted to provide a one-stop shop experience with value added benefits that no other ‘competitor’ can provide.”

With the goal to transition a business from conventional to green products without having a negative effect on the bottom line, Eco Green Office carries a range of products and services including paper; desk and office accessories; and cartridges.

Education is a key part of Eco Green Office’s business. Green products are often harder to sell, “But as we educate our partners, they are able to see the big picture and that there is much more to just cost. We have some items that are a little higher in price, some lower and some even,” Beckett explained. The most convincing way people are educated is through real-life experiences that can be shared with Eco Green Office’s hopeful partners.

“We use a variety of tools, but it is so important to provide results of someone’s green effort,” Beckett said. “We provide tangible information so that it can be built into a sustainability report and shared with co-workers. Depending on the products, we have a few ways of passing on education.”

Eco Green Office’s business is doing really well despite the economy. Beckett believes it is because many see the importance in being green. “The new green is going to create jobs while helping the planet. Sustainability encompasses so many things but our resources are depleting and it is time for companies to be aware of their footprint/impact of doing business. Eco Green Office can significantly help a business on a green mission while quantifying the eco-benefits of using some of our products.”
