From 1st April the CRR (Centre for Remanufacturing and Reuse) will focus solely on remanufacturing and no longer host information on material resource efficiency.
This will now be handled by non-profit organization WRAP, which will become the single point of contact for consumers, business and local authorities in this area.
Relocating resources to WRAP (the Waste and Resource Action Programme) is part of a scheme to streamline government resources and avoid unnecessarily duplicating information on multiple sites.
The project is hoped to reduce ongoing production costs by £5.2 million by 2011, without reducing quality of service.
