Epson presents new low-cost thermal POS printer

US headquartered Epson has launched ReadyPrint T20 thermal printer, a low-cost receipt printer for small retailers transitioning from ECR to PC-based point of sale (POS) systems.

According to Epson, the new printer offers “an ideal low-volume, cost-effective solution with fast and easy integration and software included to speed application programming”.

The ReadyPrint T20 is packaged as an all-in-one-box solution, being shipped with a manual, drivers, utilities, cable, integrated power supply. Epson said: “It includes everything resellers need in one box for easy setup and installation at the customer site.”

Director of Sales and Marketing at Epson System Device Group Mike Helm said: “The retail SME printing market offers a strong growth opportunity for Epson and its resellers. By building Epson quality and reliability into ReadyPrint, we now offer resellers a high-caliber printing solution for their SMB customers at a highly competitive price.”

For the fourth year in a row, 2006-2009, retailers have ranked Epson first in POS peripherals in the RIS News Hardware LeaderBoard.
