Apr 22, 2010

Buying Solutions, the national procurement partner for UK public services, has selected Xerox to supply printing and copier paper to the public sector.

The two-year contract gives Xerox access to £400 million worth of new business opportunities. This is the estimated total spends on paper by the public sector each year.

Xerox is now one of eight suppliers awarded a place on the Supply of Printing and Copier Papers (Recycled and Virgin Fibre) framework agreement.

Under the next generation framework agreement, the OEM will supply recycled paper to meet central government’s mandate on the use of recycled paper. It will also offer virgin fibre papers that comply with the government’s timber policy.

UK General Manager at Xerox Office Supplies Doug Bishop said: “We are delighted to qualify for the printing and copier papers framework. It further enhances Xerox’s commitment to provide UK public sector organizations with value-for-money services that support the government’s drive for cost efficiency. This new agreement opens up a whole new stream of business opportunities and will firmly cement our presence in this sector.”

Buying Solutions is an Executive Agency of the Office of Government Commerce in the Treasury. It delivers a series of framework agreements covering consultancy, resourcing, goods, and commoditized services and solutions.
