A good business sense seems to be the key to success in franchising. And that’s exactly what Martin and Sarah Dyckhoff, owners of Cartridge World Aylesbury, in the UK, seem to have. Well why shouldn’t they? After all they are the current holders of Franchisee of the Year.
Sat in a small café around the corner from the store, Sarah tells us how she wants to be the best in Europe. She’s quick to ask David what Cartridge World Malta is like as soon as he mentions the place. “She’s got to the top here [in the UK] and now there will not be peace until she gets top of Europe,” says husband and business partner Martin. She’s obviously very proud of what she has achieved but is determined to do better.
So why open a Cartridge World? The couple say it’s more to do with the franchise. Having run a business before, Martin says: “We went into it knowing the pain of running your own business.
“We knew that the development of the concept was one thing, the growth of an individual is another and with a relatively young family, we weren’t up for repeating the trick of starting a business completely from scratch,” he adds.
