She will help The Recycler respond to the growing number of customers throughout Canada, Mexico and the US in local time.
The new role follows The Recycler Publisher David Connett’s public announcement of upcoming changes for the company outlined in the August issue of the magazine.
Gurgevich said: “It takes a great deal of orchestration to make an appointment like this happen. In our case, everything seemed aligned and to fall into place: the timing of my return to the industry, The Recycler’s announcement of their strategic plan, and our shared vision and belief in those plans for serving the industry.”
Connett said: “It is my great pleasure to welcome Phyllis Gurgevich to our team. Phyllis will be focusing on growing our footprint in North America, which is, and remains the world’s largest market for consumables and home to over 3,500 active remanufacturers.”
He added: “Since its inception more than 18 years ago, The Recycler magazine, and the events we produce, have been more than merely serving the industry The Recycler has been dedicated to, supportive of and investing in activities to promote industry growth and advancement.
“We are remaining focused on the informational and networking needs and concerns of businesses actively engaged in the toner and inkjet cartridge remanufacturing industry.
“By actively and strategically managing the growth The Recycler is seeing in all parts of the world, we are set to see our circulation reach 10,000 or more on a monthly basis by 2011. This type of growth demands careful planning, and requires solid practices and procedures in place.”
Gurgevich managed Recharger magazine for 12 years, serving as Publisher and General Manager. After leaving Recharger, she was involved in the launch of Hansets and Accessories magazine, where she worked as Publisher and Director. She also worked for Ardyss International, where she was Director of Distributor Marketing and Special Events.
