Canon expands PIXMA printer line-up

The MG8120 has six individual ink tanks, including one that is gray, producing a maximum colour resolution of 9600 x 2400 dpi. It also offers Auto Duplex copying, printing and a two-way paper. Canon says it prints out a four by six-inches photo in approximately 20 seconds. The MG8120 has an estimated selling price of $299.99.

Similar to the MG8120, the MG6120 features a gray ink tank for printing high-quality monochrome and colour images. The six individual ink tanks can produce a maximum colour resolution of 9600 x 2400 dpi. It also produces four by six-inches photos in approximately 20 seconds. The MG6120 has an estimated selling price of $199.99.

The Intelligent Touch System allows the user to navigate through menus quicker with back-lit touch sensitive buttons. It also features a new light guidance system that eliminates buttons not in use to reduce mistakes.

Canon explained that the PIXMA MG8120 and MG6120 Wireless Photo all in one printers use capacitive touch technology, which picks up on electricity in the users body when a finger glides across the touch surface. It says this stops users having to apply pressure, as with older touch screen technology.

The new Full HD Movie Print enables the consumer to print individual frames of movies captured from scenes when using the compatible HD Canon EOS and PowerShot Digital cameras.
