The Color imageCLASS LBP7200cdn and imageCLASS LBP6650dn/LBP6300dn/LBP6000 are the first in the class in the US single-function printer market.
The OEM said that each model incorporates the Canon Single Cartridge System, which combines the toner, drum and development unit in one cartridge. Canon claims that this results in “excellent image-quality retention and eliminating the complication and warehousing of separate toner and drum consumables”.
The colour imageCLASS LBP7200cdn features duplex printing, a 15 second first print time, toner save mode, booklet mode, poster mode and watermark printing.
It handles paper sizes up to legal and boasts a 250-sheet cassette plus a 50-sheet multipurpose tray. Users can also add on a 250-sheet paper cassette available for higher volume use.
The LBP7200Cdn delivers print speeds of up to 21 pages per minute (ppm) in both colour and monochrome. It will be available next month at a manufacturer’s suggested price of $699.
imageCLASS LBP6650dn has a 35-ppm output and the LBP6300dn has speeds of up to 35 ppm. And according to Canon, first prints arrive in six seconds or less.
The machines support standard networking and duplexing, offer a toner save mode, booklet mode, poster mode and watermark printing.
Standard paper handling includes a 250-sheet front-loading cassette with a 50-sheet multipurpose tray, as well as an optional 500-sheet cassette for extended print capacity.
The imageCLASS LBP6650dn/LBP6300dn laser printers are scheduled to be available in November at manufacturer’s suggested prices of $599 and $499, respectively.
The imageCLASS LBP6000 delivers 19 ppm and first prints of approximately eight seconds. It supports a 150-sheet cassette as standard.
It also features print modes such as toner saver, poster and watermark. Canon said the compact LBP6000 uses 1.3 watts of energy consumption in sleep mode.
The machine is scheduled to be available in November at a manufacturer’s suggested price of $249.
