Kazuaki Ushiyama, Executive Vice President, Managing Director, Document Solutions Business Group, Toshiba, said: “We are indeed thrilled to cooperate with HP in the Managed Print Services business. The winners are undoubtedly our customers. They will greatly benefit from the solutions and products that are the outcome of our alliance.”
John Solomon, Senior Vice President Imaging and Printing Group Asia Pacific and Japan, said: “We just wrote a new chapter in our MPS strategy for our customers today. Through our relationship with Toshiba Tec, we can now offer a true multi-vendor advantage allowing our customers a consistent user experience across their printing environment.”
The Summit saw the announcement of HP FutureSmart Firmware and the latest version of the HP Open Extensibility Platform (OXP). HP believes that these allow HP and solution partners to develop advanced applications, making HP MFPs a document workflow kiosk for multiple business processes that enhance productivity.
The new printing products announced today and all future networked, office-class HP LaserJet printers are based on HP FutureSmart Firmware. The new products, services and solutions are designed to help HP Managed Print Services customers cut costs, improve productivity, mitigate risk and drive business results.
The OEM also announced that the HP printing payback guarantee will be available to consumers in Korea, Hong Kong and Malaysia. This was previously rolled in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.
For new MPS customers, HP said it will complete an assessment of their imaging and printing environment and needs. The company will then make a recommendation, and calculate projected cost savings.
HP added: “One year after full implementation of the HP recommendation, a second assessment will be undertaken, and if the client hasn’t realized the projected savings, HP will make up the difference.”
“We are in the business of accelerating growth for our enterprise customers and today’s announcements, punctuated by our customer success and recent recognition by industry analysts, speaks to our momentum in the market and our vision to deliver this to our clients,” said Pierre Mirlesse, Vice President, Managed Enterprise Solutions, Imaging and Printing Group, HP Asia Pacific and Japan.
