Organizers reported a full house for the conference, which was held at the Hotel Pere IV in Barcelona between 21 and 22 October.
It gave attendees a chance to learn from industry leaders in each remanufacturing area, with talks on laser, inkjet, aftermarket chips and patents.
The Recycler’s Publisher David Connett said: “We are very happy with the turnout for the Focus on Europe conference, and I thank everyone for showing their support.
“Delegates said that the two main issues of patents and new-builds were addressed by the speakers, with the general consensus being that the industry needs to get together more often to create a better sense of unity and understanding in the European remanufacturing community.”
Fredy Gass, CEO at CBR Engineering, said: “This conference was a success and it is important to talk about the legal issues facing the industry. Recycling is what it is all about.”
The two-day event also played host to an ETIRA meeting, a day’s programme consisting of speakers from across the remanufacturing sector.
The ETIRA General Assembly elected two new representatives to its board – Kees Uppenkamp of XPS, and Pierre-Yves Leger of Armor Group.
The meeting focused on non-OEM newbuilds and the association promised to take action against companies seen to be violating IP rights.
