Kyocera six-month report sees vast profit increase

Nov 1, 2010

The figure marks an extraordinary increase more than ten times higher than profits from the same period in 2009, which stood at JPY 8,858 million (£68 million).

Meanwhile the Japanese OEM’s net sales stood at JPY 637,392 million (£4.9 billion), an increase of 31 percent from last year’s JPY 483,903 million.

Kyocera reported that despite the adverse effects of the yen’s appreciation, it had enjoyed “robust” sales for multifunction devices, in particular mid-speed and colour machines.

Strong sales for these high-value-added products meant that the Information Equipment Group, which covers print devices, saw an overall increase in profit from the first half of the year.
