MBP Group acquires GTA SISTEMAS

Nov 16, 2010

GTA SISTEMAS was created in Barcelona in 1992 developing the recycling activity together with the sale of compatible cartridges.

By purchasing GTA SISTEMAS, MBP Group aims to strengthen its position on an international level and is get closer to its Southern European partners.

GTA SISTEMAS is a major player in Spain and, thanks to its 18 years of existence, its distribution network will be of great benefit to MBP Group.

Located between Nantes and Tangier, the new entity of the group will allow MBP to optimize its commercial position. The company states that its bigger size and new competences will help MBP Group to take up tomorrow’s challenges.

MBP has a strong export position and intends to continue its international development after the creation of a production plant in Tangiers in 2008.

Franck Toffa, Managing Director at MBP, has almost 20 years experience in this industry and whilst speaking to The Recycler, he emphasized the importance of growth and development in the future of MBP.

Mr Toffa’s company now has key locations in France, Spain and Morocco. This puts MBP in an ideal position for expansion into the African market, which Mr Toffa believes represents a lot of potential for the remanufacturing market.

Regarding MBP’s acquisition of GTA Sistemas, Mr. Toffa said that, “GTA couldn’t manage the crisis but MBP can learn things from this company. This is a hard business and it can be difficult for a remanufacturer to maintain growth.”

GTA SISTEMAS was founded in 1992, employs 30 people and had a turnover of 5 million euros in 2009.
