The paper reports that CAU President Steve Iocco and Greater Gratiot Development President Don Schurr successfully requested more land for development from the Gratiot Country Board of Commissioners.
CAU previously expanded in Ithaca last year, and joined Clover Technologies Group in 2007.
The Morning Sun reports that Iocco explained to Clover’s board that despite increased sales in Europe, he preferred to expand the Ithaca operation because of its success there.
It added that he plans for around 30,000 more square feet, and 25 more new jobs.
Iocco also reportedly said that the company can “even outbid the Chinese” thanks to Clover’s robotics and equipment, adding “No one else has that automation.”
“No one else has that automation,” he said. “And we dream. We’re challenged when we’re told, “No, you can’t do that.”
