PC World reveals how to identify counterfeit ink

Journalist Mark Shea mentions different ways in which individuals can check whether the inkjet cartridges they purchase are legal, and reminds consumers not to “confuse counterfeit ink with off-brand or discount ink”, which it states is “made to spec[ifications] by honest companies and can be a viable, inexpensive alternative”.

PC World’s tips include checking the seller’s reliability, examining cartridge packaging, studying the cartridge itself for leaks or damage, and an overall look for quality and quantity.
