The survey, the results of which can be found here, questioned over 79,000 technology consumers about which technology companies were trustworthy and provided the best service and support.
The site mentioned that Canon has been popular for a number of years in its surveys, and is a ‘perennial favourite’, whilst Brother is now ‘gaining popularity among printer users’, and is ‘comparable with Canon in reliability’.
HP, which readers regularly ‘proclaim one of the biggest losers’ in the company’s regular surveys, were seen as one of the least reliable and least popular manufacturers of printers.
According to the site, HP’s poor reliability and customer service mean that it ‘remain[s] in the cellar’ of public opinion and choice. Lexmark also received negative reviews from the consumers surveyed, having previously enjoyed a higher ranking in PC World’s previous surveys of the printer market.
HP’s Customer Service Executive Cliff Wagner said: “We’re not happy until all of our customers are happy. There’s clearly a lot of work that we’re continuing to do, and a lot of investments that we’re doing.”
