Ricoh announces new eco-MFPs with increased security

Dec 14, 2010

The printer’s DataOverwriteSecurity System (DOSS) is designed to overwrite hard drive data after each copy, scan, fax and print job. Storing and deletion of jobs has been a hot topic over the past year, with institutions and businesses reminded of the dangers arising from careless device disposal.

The OEM adds that the Aficio series “makes it affordable for businesses to bring colour into their workflow”, and includes the ability to set print quotas for individual users. Print administrators will be able to control access to colour in order to manage costs, with Ricoh stating that this allows the printer to “integrate into any office environment”. The OEM also states that the printer will use its “energy-saving” PxP Toner.

“We are excited to introduce the Ricoh Aficio MP C3001/C3501 & MP C4501/C5501 Series, which offers users better productivity and advanced feature sets in a superior-quality, color multifunction series,” said Shun Sato, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Ricoh Americas Corporation.

“In addition to outstanding performance, companies will benefit from the series’ standard security features and energy-saving advantages, all helping to achieve a respectable TCO for the organization.”

Prices for the printers range from $12,340 to $19,780, and the range of models is now available.
