The counterfeit items originated from China and the United Arab Emirates, and were seized in November. Mirza Cordalija, PSS manager at HP stated: “These recent successes are an important result of the intensified co-operation between Hewlett Packard and Maltese Customs at Malta Freeport.
“Currently, steps to further strengthen this fruitful collaboration are being planned.”
Continuing its more aggressive pursuit of counterfeits, HP is closely working with customs authorities all across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In Spain, for example, HP recently supported authorities in seizing 3,750 counterfeits and trained more than 30 customs officers.
HP is trying to address the global problem of counterfeiting and have provided several direct ways for anyone who wishes to report suspicious counterfeit products.
