DigitalVersus has reported that it will be changing its reviews of Lexmark inkjet multifunction printers to reflect a growing number of user complaints over printhead faults, with some users reporting repeated failings or not receiving replacements.
Its French sister site, Les Numeriques, has received complaints from multiple readers over models such as the Lexmark Pro905. Users noted that their printers began to produce print defects and quality issues not long after purchase.
Lexmark itself is aware of the issue and has previously explained that the fault lies with faulty batches of printheads fitted to some of its printers. The OEM has also sent out free replacement printheads for those affected, but many users say they have not received good service.
DigitalVersus notes that in some cases Lexmark has apparently failed to replace the fault pieces, while other users have complained of receiving three or four new sets and still encountering problems.
Users encountering problems are advised to contact Lexmark’s technical support. UK customers can call 0207 365 2496, while US customers can call +1-800-(539-6275).
