Print-Rite’s Director of Sales Joanne Allen will be taking on Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for two charities on 5 September.
She will be embarking on a seven day trek to the 19,360 ft high mountain’s peak to raise money for the charity organizations Cancer Research and the Meningitis Trust.
Her cause can be supported by visiting her JustGiving donations pages here and here. Print-Rite has already donated £5,000 between the two causes.
Kilimanjaro is considered an extremely challenging climb, with the terrain shifting between rainforest, grassland, moorland, snowfields and glaciers. Joanne will be trekking for up to seven hours a day, with an eight hour push to the summit on the final day.
Joanne has funded the trip herself and all donations will go directly to the charities.
Writing on her JustGiving page, Joanne said: “There have been so many loved ones taken away from us due to cancer. I think everybody knows somebody who has been affected by it.
“It’s such a horrendous disease that can strike any of us at any time, sometimes so aggressively that the poor soul just doesn’t stand a chance! We have to do as much as possible to help pay for the research that will save so many lives.”
