Sep 7, 2011

Positive growth rates in the last two years are said to being causing a shift in consumer trends in Spain, according to a recent GfK study.

Sales of inkjet and laserjet cartridges through specialist channels have steadily risen after several months of strong expansion, with the former currently standing at 15 percent and the latter 9 percent.

The study took place within the specialist channel reveals that price and customer service are significant influences on the consumer when purchasing a product.

Although the predominant increase in sales were due to non-genuine cartridges, genuine cartridges have also performed well in the channel.

There are currently 723 specialist and recycling company shops in Spain, with over 60 percent belonging to a chain or association. Despite the success of traditional shops, online sales are improving, with 30 percent of stores now trading through their websites.
