Latest agreement sees even more markets added for the bio-toner.

SoyPrint has completed a new licensing agreement to expand coverage of its soy-based toner to Latin America, the company announced today.

California-based company SymbioOffice will now be bringing SoyPrint toner and cartridges to Central and South American markets, as well as the Caribbean. As The Recycler previously reported, SymbioOffice began distributing in the US earlier this year.

SoyPrint’s toner is a biological toner which uses soy oil to replace the petroleum oil normally found in the chemical substance. The extra environmental credentials provided by using a renewable resource have seen the product taken a strong foothold in several key markets.

SoyPrint Vice President Rick Greenlaw explained: “SymbioOffice has relationships in Latin America and bi-lingual personnel.  Their development plans are extensive in a region with a growing demand for green products, similar to Europe’s.”

Meanwhile German company SymbioPrint has been distributing in Western Europe and recently expanded to cover Russia and the Middle East, while IMG Solutions covers Eastern Europe.

SoyPrint has also been working to increase both the range of cartridges covered and the amount of bio-material used in its toner. Nearly 30 HP models are currently available, with other OEM brands near completion.

The company reports a strong reception from Europe and South America in particular. The fact that SoyPrint uses soy from American crops has also helped to boost its popularity on its home soil.
