Coastal Image makes Mombasa greener with tree planting drive

The aftermarket company teamed up with the City Council for an environmental day.

Kenyan company Coastal Image Technologies Ltd has taken part in a successful tree planting event with Mombasa’s City Council in a day of environmental celebration.

Mombasa Mayor His Worship Ahmed Modhar and Director of the Environment Mohamed Bilafif were among those taking part in the event alongside the aftermarket company, with guests and well-wishers also taking part and planting trees in the city.

Coastal Image specializes in repairing and refurbishing printers and copiers, and also produces its own Coastaltec brand remanufactured toner cartridges.

The Planting Mombasa Green event began with verses from the Quaran by Maisam Valli, followed by a speech from Bilafif on the importance of saving the environment and keeping the city clean and a few words from Mayor Modhar and several other city figures.

The event was also held in honour of the memory of Prof. Wangari Maathai, the famed Kenyan environmental and political activist who passed away from cancer in September.
