UK Borough Council selects OEM for digital print management system.
Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) has won a significant contract with Bedford orough
Council to provide an in-house digital print management system for monthly volumes of 500,000 colour prints.
The OEM was selected following a process through the Buying Solutions framework agreement for public sector purchasing, and is the seventh supplier awarded with a framework agreement through the process.
Consultancy, hardware, software and services have enabled the Council to manage its print through a web interface, which is touted as allowing great cost efficiencies on external spending.
Councillor Shan Hunt, Portfolio Holder for Revenues and Benefits, Customer Services and ICT, commented: “As part of our modernisation agenda, our objective was to provide a more efficient service, reduce our costs and produce high quality results for all our requirements. Having tendered through the Buying Solutions framework, we chose Konica Minolta as they
provided the best solution for our needs.
“Now we can show greater efficiency savings on external costs and provide a whole design and print service for our stakeholders, thanks to the solution provided by Konica Minolta.”
Jonathan Wilson, Market Development Manager, Konica Minolta, added: “This contract win is typical of the growing success of Konica Minolta’s customer intimacy policy. By understanding the needs of Bedford Borough Council we were able to propose and implement a solution that met their needs for an efficient and cost-effective print management solution.”
