The Cardiff branch of global IT infrastructure service provider Computacenter will be joining a framework agreement for the supply for computer hardware, reports The Guardian.
The MPS provider will join the All Wales IT Equipment and Associated Services, which is comprised in two grouping. One will handle “peripherals such as printers, scanners and desktop storage devices”.
The arrangement is set to run for two years, with the prospective option of extensions. Other companies included are Computer World (Wales), Desk Top Publishing Micro Systems, Gaia Technologies, Insight Direct, Kelway, Misco, Softcat, Stone Computers, Viglen and XMA.
The UK Government has come under fire in recent years for their procurement process, with printer cartridges a widely used example of fault, and many calls for revision including from UKCRA and Lee Fowler.
