Our thoughts on the developments in Zhuhai

Nov 3, 2011

Change may indeed be afoot as remanufacturers from Zhuhai meet to discuss the recent consultative decisions from the Beijing High Court regarding the future of remanufacturing in the region.

The impact of the final decision would be widespread and catastrophic, so it is little wonder that remanufacturers have opted to fight their corner, which they will do so through the Zhuhai Printing Consumable Industry Association.

As a mere mortal not versed in the ways of the Chinese courts it does seem a little strange that they would want to adopt a decision that is contrary to the rest of the world and flies in
the face of the Chinese governments proactive position on promoting reuse and remanufacturing and reducing the impact of manufacturing on the finite resources have. It would be a perverse decision indeed that might lead to the end of remanufacturing in China, but would see a possible legitimate development of the age of the clone.

Discussion on our website has so far revealed a divide in opinion, some in favour and some against. Have your say by leaving a comment on the story.
