The study, Hardcopy Device Usage – Color Usage Trends, reports a 47 percent usage of colour in weekly print output.
International Data Corporation (IDC) has released a new survey identifying the trends in colour printing, and reports users of colour devices identify that 47 percent of their weekly print volume contained colour, with the largest companies identifying a usage of 50
percent.
This is attributed to the increase in MPS, with companies undergoing efforts to reduce costs reporting higher colour usage.
Additional findings detail the correlation between company size and workgroup; the larger the company and the higher the number of people sharing the device, the higher the colour output. The top brands for colour usage were Epson, Brother, Xerox and Konica Minolta.
Lyra Research has also released the report Worldwide Laser Toner Cartridge Forecast 2008 – 2015, which documents the predicted increase in toner cartridge shipments.
