The Lyra Research report Worldwide Laser Toner Cartridge Forecast 2008 – 2015 has predicted toner cartridge shipments are expected to grow as strong sales in emerging markets takes place, leading to growth through to 2015.

Laser cartridge shipments are expected to grow from 379 million units in 2010 to roughly 445 million in 2015.

The increase is attributed to the shift in colour output devices, although monochrome laser printers and MFPs still make up the majority of laser devices in office environments, and the shift to midrange monochrome MFPs and colour devices that utilise separate colour cartridges.

IDC have also released the report “Hardcopy Device Usage – Colour Usage Trends”, which identifies a strong percentage in colour printing in office environments.
