Chosen among 168 companies for experimentation on environmental labelling.
Armor Office Printing has been chosen along with 30 companies for an experimental initiative on environmental labelling. The sole representative from the compatible printing consumables sector, Armor join groups working under the L’Agence de l’Environnement et de la Maîtrise de l’Energie (ADEME) and Association Française de Normalisation (AFNOR) to determine an approach to labelling since 2008.
Armor’s inkjet and laser printer cartridges will be employed during one of the phases of the experimentation process, to last several months during which a label will be placed on products displaying the environmental impact of the product. Consumers will now have two environmental indicators on a printer cartridge displaying the impact on climate and natural resources of printing 100 pages.
The preliminary findings reveal that “printing 100 pages with the HP 1010 is akin to 1780m by car and 70ml of extracted crude oil. In contract, printing 100 pages with the ARMOR PGI 520 is akin to only 320m by car and 20ml of extracted crude oil! In summary printing 300 pages with a PGI 520 is the same as travelling only 1km by car.”
Hubert de Boisredon, CEO of ARMOR Groups, commented: “In terms of sustainable development, we are pursuing our objectives on a daily basis both nationally and throughout our foreign subsidiaries. The will to succeed is strong and we have used humanism, innovation, commitment and consequently, customer care, to transform this will into values-based affirmation action.”
