New facility to be located at Bolingbrook village.

Electronics and imaging company Ricoh announced 16 November that it intends to consolidate operations in as many as 12 states and relocate to a facility in Bolingbrook, Illinois, the Bolingbrook Patch has reported.

The company will relocate to a 261,554 square-foot industrial warehouse that will house a new distribution and assembly centre.

John Stacy, IKON Office Solutions, stated that the premises have been under preparation from August. The first relocated location is due to move to Bolingbrook by December, while the rest will follow through the next 12 months.

The move is expected to provide 140 new jobs to the area, and although Bolingbrook Mayor Roger Claar celebrated the move, commenting: “We’ve had several major business developments this year and this is clearly one that should be highlighted. This is great news… restaurants, hotels and retailers will certainly be happy with more traffic for them”, it is unknown what the outcome will be for the workforce of the 12 consolidated locations will be.
