International collector wins award against 29 other nominees, with over 6,000 votes.
Deventer-based Van Klaveren ccc has been awarded the Zero Waste Award on 21 November, created by waste processors Berkel Circus environment and in collaboration with the municipality of Deventer, Lochem, Bronckhorst, Zutphen and Doesburg. Van Klaveren was nominated along with 29 other companies.
Gerhard van Klaveren, Managing Director, Van Klaveren ccc, commented: “Sustainability is a hgh priority, in our business but also privately. We can’t leave this world with even more waste… not for ourselves, but certainly not for our children.
“By the collection of empty cartridges and used cell phones we have saved more than 600 containers from the landfills, in just one year!”
Alderman Jos Pierey commented on the flexibility Van Klaveren ccc offered, stating: “By the collection of empty cartridges and mobile phones they gain a lot of profit for the environment and a part of this profit goes to charities! Besides this Van Klaveren creates work for people with a certain distance from the labour market by cooperating with Sallcon and UWV, which is very important in these times.”
Van Klaveren ccc was nominated for the Zero Waste award on 2 November and won with 6,049 votes.
