Ricoh releases flood impact statement

Nov 30, 2011

OEM apologises for any inconvenience caused, despite lack of direct damage.

Ricoh has issued a statement on the impact of the Thai floods, warning of “foreseeable” impact on product supply and adding “our hearts go out to the victims of the floods which devastated such a broad area of Thailand”.

Ricoh experienced no direct damage to its two manufacturing facilities in Thailand: the floods have “affected the procurement of parts” and therefore the company anticipates a reduced product supply capacity.

Thusly, “to minimize this impact, the Ricoh Group is taking all possible measures including checking on the situation of each affected supplier, updating an inventory of parts by model and looking into alternative sources of parts”.

The OEM apologised for any inconvenience, and intends to “proactively keep monitoring the situation and assessing the level of any future potential impact on our products”.
