HP to level former Rockrimmon manufacturing plant

Dec 5, 2011

Former plant located at Rockrimmon Boulevard campus, Northwest Colorado, to be demolished early 2012.

Printer manufacturer HP has announce on 2 December that it intends to demolish a two-building former manufacturing plant in Northwest Colorado after moving remaining employees into a newer adjacent building.

The two buildings, located at the Rockrimmon Boulevard campus, total 778,000 square foot and were acquired following the merging with Compaq Computer Corp in 2002, who acquired Digital Equipment Corp., who built the site, in 1998.

A statement from HP states the company “continually evaluates its facilities in order to better use space and provide employees with a more collaborative work environment. As part of that effort, we consolidated space at our Colorado Springs campus and moved employees into an adjacent building.

“We expect to begin demolition of two buildings by early 2012.”

HP has yet to announce what plans they have with the future space.
