Among 18 other governments in recognising chip patents from Static Control.

Static Control Components (Europe) has announced that the European Patent Office has granted a patent with regards to the company’s universal chips, as of 12 December.

The aftermarket company’s universal chip technology enables a singular chip to be recognised and installed by multiple printers and provides the programming required for full functionality, which Static claims is “just like a dedicated chip”.

Static states: “A single, universal chip can replace multiple dedicated chips, which reduces inventory, simplifies production and lowers production costs. Universal chips also enable
the creation of universal cartridges”.

Patents regarding Static Control’s universal chip technology have also been awarded in the US, by the governments of nine Eurasian countries, and also in Israel, Egypt, Mexico, South Korea and China. Patents are currently pending in Brazil, India and Hong Kong.
