Latest survey from BCC suggests that technology is needed to increase pace of activity and ensure growth in SMEs.
The British Chambers of Commerce (BCC)’s latest quarterly survey comprised of 8,000 small and medium sized companies (SMEs), suggesting that general current activity of these businesses is too slow for sustainable recovery, particularly in domestic activity. Andrew Gilbert, Managing Director of Node4, believes that technology is the key to increasing the rate of growth: “SMEs […] need additional support in order to achieve sustainable growth. Using technology to create efficiencies will enable firms to make cost savings and operate more efficiently.
“The demand on the data centre infrastructure is growing and we (Node4) have made recent expansions to our services. As a result, a wealth of hosted services are becoming available, enabling companies to reduce their capital expenditure while at the same time becoming more innovative in their operations. SMEs should overcome the misconception that gaining access to leading edge technology is prohibitively expensive.”
