Study will be conducted in range of countries worldwide to find factors influencing inkjet market.
The InfoTrends study entitled “Is Inkjet Ready to Transform the Office Printing Environment?” will represent markets in 18 countries that host both mature, advanced markets and emerging, high-growth markets; including Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Poland, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, the UK and the US.
It is hoped that the study will contribute to the understanding of the inkjet printing opportunity as a whole, providing critical factors needed for inkjet technology to succeed in the global mainstream office printing market.
It follows on from previous InfoTrends research that has confirmed the existence of a bias against ink technology within the IT decision-maker community. However, InfoTrends asserts that a number of new and significant global inkjet developments have the potential to change this.
The factors being identified by the study include critical product features and functionality required for inkjet product acceptance in each region, the size of the market opportunity for inkjet technology in the office by global region, segmentation of the business inkjet market across all forms of ink-based devices, differences in attitudes towards ink-based marking technology by region and by market, and whether customers consider inkjet technology to have any advantage over laser technology.
