Compatible toner cartridge supplier and Stockport industrial complex faces £500,000 in damages.

Mancunian Matters has reported on the fire of a Manchester-based industrial complex, where a fire has caused as much as £500,000 ($775,637/€640,437) to Omega Business Supplies and the remainder of the complex.

Fire officials state that the blaze was started at the compatible toner cartridge supplier, and quickly spread to an adjacent company. The fire is said to have started around midnight on 18 July and is the deliberate work of arsonists.

Detective Constable Matt Tarr commented: “Having looked at the fire scene, it is clear to us that this fire was started deliberately.

“An initial assessment of the damage caused, as well as the loss of business brings the total monetary impact of this arson to somewhere between £250,000 ($387,818/€320,218) to £500,000.

“I cannot understand how someone would want to needlessly cause so much damage.”
