Rockhampton retailer The Good Guys has become a Collection Partner for the recycling programme.

Rockhampton-based electronics retailer The Good Guys will collaborate with cartridge collection scheme Cartridges 4 Planet Ark and has become a Collection Partner, allowing customers to recycle their used cartridges at the store free of charge.

Paul Archer, owner of the Rockhampton branch, commented to the Morning Bulletin: “Consumers are definitely getting more conscious about what they spend their money on in terms of how much they are paying for products and the green opportunities that the product presents.

“Our partnership with Planet Ark has also ensured that people can responsibly recycle their old cartridges – it’s a win-win situation.”

Planet Ark’s Janet Sparrow added: “Through our successful programme we’ve received over 18 million printer cartridges in the last 10 years […] we are encouraging Rockhampton locals to contribute to our campaign to reach 20 million by the end of March 2013.”

The Good Guys currently only deal in OEM cartridges and although customers will be able to deposit their cartridges at the Planet Ark collection boxes located at the store, which will be recycled into other products including pens, rules, eWood – replacement timber products – and cans.
