The Municipality of Poggibonsi increases its environmental activities, including pursuing an increase in use of recycled products and recycling toner cartridges.

Giampiero Signorini, Commissioner of Environment for the Municipality of Poggibonsi, has spoken on the increased focus on environmentalism and aims to increase use of recycled materials, reports Go News.

The Municipality will be bidding on the purchase and supply of paper, stationery and toner cartridges among others, and will be introducing initiatives to increase toner cartridge recycling in government and public facilities.

With toner cartridges identified as “returnable”, and Go News suggests that aftermarket supplies are being purchased in lieu of OEM products, “eliminating waste and saving 70 percent compared to the purchase of new and original toner”.

Recycling boxes have also been placed in various government offices, schools, libraries, day nurseries and pharmacies, in which toner cartridges may be recovered.

Signorini commented: “This year, attention has been widely applied in various supplies and that, given the excellent results, will be a permanent practise for 2013. One way to respect the environment, to conserve resources and to sensitise companies to the product and sales of green products.”
