Association aims to raise awareness to remanufacturers based in Delhi.
Remanufacturers, refillers and MPS providers in Delhi are to be targeted by the Managed Print Services Association of India (MaPSAI) in a bid to raise awareness of the association and gain members, reports The DQ Week.
The association aims to tackle problems faced by the remanufacturing industry in India by interacting with the government and communicating with printing vendors to gain their support. It will also try to educate its members on factors such as the technology behind printers and the raw materials they use.
K Madhusudan, President and Convener at MaPSAI, commented: “Vendors are taking all the route to kill our market by introducing new features. Therefore, we have to scale up our technical skills to counter the competition and winning the confidence of the customers.”
In July, the association held its first meeting attended by 20 members in Mumbai, in which it gained four new members, specified its role and agreed on a code of conduct for fair business practise amongst its members. 50 Delhi-based partners have been invited to the next meeting, with the association reportedly planning to expand its membership numbers to 500 by March 2013.
Madhusudan stated: “We have plans to establish our association as a national association, wherein we will have four zones in each region. This is for first time we are meeting with the Delhi based re-manufactures, managed print service providers and re-fillers.”
Speaking of the lack of support from the Indian government for the remanufacturing industry, Madhusen added: “Today, India has no law which supports re-manufacturing industry. Moreover, the CVC order is also a major roadblock to grow our industry. As part of the association, we will be talking to the CVC authority and asking them to open doors for cartridge re-manufactures in the government sector.”
