Printer ink ingredient found in fake Viagra

Australian men are encouraged to be wary against purchasing drugs to counter erectile dysfunction after research shows 77 percent of online tablets as fake and include printer ink substances.

While a number of readers of The Recycler may be familiar with the use of gypsum as an ingredient in printer ink, its use in fake varieties of pills to counteract erectile dysfunction will come as a surprise to most.

Perth Now has encouraged purchasers to be wary of fake Viagra varietals after an analysis of 22 different websites revealed that 77 percent of samples were fake and contained only 30 to 50 percent of the “active ingredient advertised on the label”.

Making up the shortfall were undeclared substances including – correctly guessed – gypsum.

Dr Stephen Ruthven added that gypsum was also found in fertiliser and commercial paint.

“Many people simply assume they are buying the real product, when in fact most online purchases from international sites are illegal counterfeits.”

The Recycler staff would like to take the opportunity to decline to comment.
