Daily Pioneer and Times of India have reported on the arrest of brothers Wasim and Mateen and landlord Taj Mohammed on suspicion of the manufacture and distribution of fake HP printer cartridges.

The investigation is said to have been instigated following prior inspection from HP employee Satyender Singh and company lawyer Dhruv Bhagat.

A police official commented “The arrest was made after the complaint lodged by the HP authorised representative Satyender Singh who had claimed that counterfeit products of his company were being manufactured and sold.”

Bhagat added: “The police took cognisance of the matter with the help of [a] district investigation unit [which] raided a house in Madhu Vihar where all the accused persons used to live and seized counterfeit cardboard boxes.
