Company’s new headquarters in Lexena, Kansas set to open in Spring 2014.
Perceptive Software, a Lexmark-owned enterprise content management (ECM) and business process management (BPM) software creator has begun construction of its new 240,000 square foot headquarters in Lexena, Kansas, with a ceremony taking place at the site, reports Kansas City.
The 13.4 acre campus will include “two four-storey office buildings, a 540-stall garage and a 921-space surface parking lot”, with the project costing $50 million (€38.3 million). 800 employees will move to the offices from the company’s current headquarters in Shawnee, Kansas “by spring 2014”.
It is hoped that the new site will provide a boost to the Lexena City Center development, which has so far seen a lack of enthusiasm from other businesses despite plans detailing a “pedestrian-friendly complex with office, retail space and residences”. The project will also be seeking certification in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design from the US Green building Council.
Blake Schreck, president of the Lexena Chamber of Commerce commented: “The sheer magnitude of the Perceptive Software project is going to draw a lot of attention […] The company is positioned for the future with 240,000 square feet of buildings and close to 1,000 employees. That critical mass will yield benefits to grow the rest of the project.”
Speaking on the Perceptive Software’s new site, Scott Coons, President and CEO of Perceptive Software and Vice-President of Lexmark International Inc. said: “This new global headquarters will be representative of the progressive company culture that has been vital to the growth of Perceptive Software.”
