One tree will be protected for every four toner and eight inkjet cartridges received.

Brother UK has announced the launch of a consumable recycling programme, touting the “industry first” that it will recycle cartridges and toner from all manufacturers, reports Channel Info.

Businesses, consumers and dealers will be eligible to participate in the scheme to recycle used inkjet and toner cartridges free of charge. Participants will receive either a cash rebate or a donation to a charity of choice.

Recycling can be managed through an online account to keep track of collections and accumulated cash, and the OEM delivers and collects recycling boxes although no minimum level of cartridges recycled has been stated.

The OEM has also stated that it will protect a tree for every four toners and eight inkjet cartridges received in accordance to the programme’s partnership with Cool Earth.
